U.S. stock index futures higher ahead of Fed decision

Investing.com - U.S. stock index futures were higher Wednesday ahead of the outcome of the Federal Reserve's policy meeting.
The Dow futures was up 0.12% at 8:35 ET.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 futures added 0.17%, while the S&P 500 futures put on 0.05%.
Retail sales and inflation core figures disappointed.
The Federal Open Market Committee is due to release a statement.
Fed Chair Janet Yellen is also scheduled to hold a news conference.
The FOMC is widely expected to raise its target rate for the second time this year.
The market odds of a 25-basis-point hike in the Fed target rate to 1.0-1.25% stand at 91.8%.
But opinion is divided on whether the Fed will continue to signal a third rate hike this year.
It may opt instead to focus on plans to trim its balance sheet.
The dollar index fell after the release of the data.
Oil was lower ahead of bearish expectations for the EIA's inventories report.
