Spain stocks lower at close of trade; IBEX 35 down 0.75%

Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.75% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Amadeus IT (MC:AMA), which rose 2.01% or 1.460 points to trade at 74.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Viscofan (MC:VIS) added 0.66% or 0.400 points to end at 61.050 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was up 0.57% or 0.13 points to 23.03 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BBVA (MC:BBVA), which fell 3.23% or 0.182 points to trade at 5.458 at the close. Banco Santander (MC:SAN) declined 2.43% or 0.111 points to end at 4.430 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was down 2.38% or 0.160 points to 6.560.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 132 to 46 and 16 ended unchanged.

Shares in BBVA (MC:BBVA) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.23% or 0.182 to 5.458. Shares in Banco Santander (MC:SAN) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.43% or 0.111 to 4.430. Shares in Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.38% or 0.160 to 6.560.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.41% or 17.20 to $1201.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.57% or 1.74 to hit $65.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.10% or 1.53 to trade at $71.28 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1388, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8931.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 96.28.
