Spain stocks higher at close of trade; IBEX 35 up 1.13%

Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.13%.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 5.20% or 0.426 points to trade at 8.625 at the close. Meanwhile, International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) added 2.19% or 0.125 points to end at 5.833 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 1.97% or 0.270 points to 13.950 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which fell 0.10% or 0.020 points to trade at 20.880 at the close. Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) added 0.05% or 0.01 points to end at 10.63 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was up 0.09% or 0.010 points to 11.450.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 131 to 42 and 15 ended unchanged.

Shares in Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.20% or 0.426 to 8.625.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.85% or 10.55 to $1225.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.82% or 0.98 to hit $52.88 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.06% or 1.17 to trade at $55.53 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.0602, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8480.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 100.99.
