Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI 20 down 0.04%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP (LS:EDP), which rose 2.03% or 0.0580 points to trade at 2.9100 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) added 1.24% or 0.150 points to end at 12.200 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 0.87% or 0.1500 points to 17.4550 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 4.35% or 0.0115 points to trade at 0.2530 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.66% or 0.0049 points to end at 0.2910 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was down 1.31% or 0.0160 points to 1.2010.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.50% or 0.35 to $70.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.70% or 0.45 to hit $64.75 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.52% or 6.90 to trade at $1341.80 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.69% to 1.2281, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8891.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.57% at 90.10.
