Poland stocks lower at close of trade; WIG30 down 0.54%

Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Chemicals and Energy sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.54%.

The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 0.75% or 0.040 points to trade at 5.340 at the close. Meanwhile, LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 0.66% or 35.35 points to end at 5355.55 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was up 0.62% or 0.05 points to 8.06 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 4.85% or 3.41 points to trade at 66.95 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 2.21% or 0.89 points to end at 39.34 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was down 2.06% or 0.62 points to 29.48.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 302 to 262 and 175 ended unchanged.

Shares in Synthos SA (WA:SNS) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.75% or 0.040 to 5.340.

Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.55% or 0.29 to $52.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $55.85 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.36% or 16.30 to trade at $1212.50 a troy ounce.

EUR/PLN was down 0.13% to 4.3684, while USD/PLN fell 1.02% to 4.0837.

The US Dollar Index was down 1.07% at 100.44.
