Honda Recalls 175,000 Japanese Hybrids

By Greg Morcroft - Honda Motor Company (TOKYO:7267)  said on Thursday that it’s recalling all 175,000 Fit and Vezel model hybrids in Japan because a flaw in the cars’ software can cause unplanned acceleration. The recall includes all the models of the two cars that Honda's sold in Japan.

Bloomberg reported on Thursday that Honda has had 11 reports of accidents with the vehicles between December and April, but no reports of injuries or deaths. Both models have been subjects of recalls previously for transmission issues.
