Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 5.67%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Construction and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 5.67%, while the MDAX index gained 3.51%, and the TecDAX index gained 3.98%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 15.66% or 18.25 points to trade at 134.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) added 11.37% or 3.175 points to end at 31.105 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 9.75% or 0.579 points to 6.520 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which rose 1.95% or 1.410 points to trade at 73.560 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 2.45% or 1.16 points to end at 48.50 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) was up 2.89% or 0.393 points to 13.988.

The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which rose 12.09% to 4.933, Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which was up 11.77% to settle at 55.24 and Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which gained 11.09% to close at 21.140.

The worst performers were Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which was down 1.48% to 63.250 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 1.08% to settle at 41.97 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was down 0.29% to 83.26 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which rose 8.55% to 83.030, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 8.22% to settle at 81.620 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which gained 7.90% to close at 21.580.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 1.08% to 41.97 in late trade, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which lost 0.82% to settle at 26.700 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was up 1.04% to 32.990 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 561 to 116 and 59 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 12.37% to 33.21.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.34% or 23.55 to $1732.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 8.27% or 2.44 to hit $31.96 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 8.31% or 2.70 to trade at $35.20 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 1.04% to 1.0927, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.8960.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.83% at 99.600.
