The Buffalo Sabres signed Victor Olofsson to a two-year deal worth $6.1 million, avoiding arbitration with the forward.

Olofsson was set to become a restricted free agent, and his arbitration hearing was scheduled for Nov. 4.

As a rookie last season, the 25-year-old Swede had 42 points (20 goals, 22 assists) in 54 games. He was named to the league's all-rookie team.

He is the third Sabres player to sign in lieu of arbitration, joining forward Sam Reinhart and goaltender Linus Ullmark.
