Scottish Castle Craig Rehab to Provide Treatment to Crypto Trading Addicts

Are you facing problems with a crypto trading addiction? Then there’s good news for you! In Scotland, there is a treatment center that is focused on healing addiction related to cryptocurrency trading. The new center is based in Castle Craig Hospital in Peeblesshire.

Currently, the hospital provides treatment courses for alcohol and drug addicts, and now it wants to help those who cannot control their addiction related to trading Bitcoin and altcoins. Given that some experts believe that crypto trading addicts form the same behavioral patterns as gamblers, the programme will provide methods similar to those used for gambling addicts.

“Addiction to cryptocurrencies is a sub-type of online day-trading addiction. I see these as akin to gambling addiction.”

“The high risk, fluctuating cryptocurrency market appeals to the problem gambler. It provides excitement and an escape from reality. Bitcoin, for example, has been heavily traded and huge gains and losses were made. It's a classic bubble situation.”

One of the therapists who will provide treatments for crypto trading addiction is Tony Marini, who was himself a gambling and cocaine addict. Marini noted that introducing life structure is very important for the victims.

“Having been through it myself, my experience of addiction gives me insight and empathy towards others who have the same problem,” he added.

The therapist said that he saw cryptocurrency trading as a method for many people to escape into another world as they didn’t like the reality they live in.

“The first stage of treatment is to join other addicts in group therapy and share their life stories. This helps them identify with each other and realize that they're not alone,” Marini revealed.
