Compromised Monero Wallets May Still Be Around
The Monero GitHub page was tampered with this November 19, releasing a so far unknown malware in the guise of a wallet. The wallet has been replaced with the original version, but private seeds may have been exposed.
The attack against the download page regalls that of Bitcoin Gold (BTG), where not one, but two compromised wallets sent out seeds to outside servers. Because Monero is an open source project, it was possible for a rogue contributor to replace the wallet download.
