Anthony Di Iorio Predicts China Will Produce The Next Crypto Winner

The next big cryptocurrency projects will come from China, said Anthony Di Iorio one of the early investors of BitCoin and co-founder of Ethereum. Di Iorio is also one of the first investors to make a fortune of more than $1 billion from his Bitcoin portfolio, Deal Street Asia reported .

He said in an interview in his office in Toronto, Canada:

“The biggest stake for me is in Qtum and VeChain right now, the two Chinese projects. There’s much more opportunity in newer ones if you can identify them.”

Qtum currently ranks as the 20th largest cryptocurrencies with $856,225,786 in capitalization, data from Coinmarketcap showed. The China-based token is pegged combining Bitcoin’s reliability with the flexibility of the Ethereum network’s smart contract.

For its part, the VeChain blockchain platform is currently ranked number 17 with $1.61 billion in capitalization. VeChain focuses on supply-chain management market as well as the financial services sector.

According to Di Iorio, he first got interested in joining the digital currency bandwagon when he helped fund Ethereum and transform it into one of the biggest competitors to the Bitcoin platform. Ethereum’s cryptocurrency, Ether, is now the second largest digital currency, next to Bitcoin, with $49,159,263,743, according to Coinmarketcap .

Di Iorio is now busy running Decentral, an “innovation hub” in Toronto which is involved in blockchain projects. Decentral is the company behind the popular digital asset wallet called Jaxx.

Despite Bitcoin’s recent and sudden drop in prices, Di Iorio said he still believes in the coin.

He commented on Bitcoin:

“In general, it’s got amazing features and it’s got the ability to, because it’s scarce, great utility, you could move value quickly fast, it’s a first-mover advantage.

“I think it’s going to consistently do what its been doing over the last year as more people start to use it."
