Americans Are Googling ‘Bitcoin’ in the Middle of the Night

The hourly data from Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Trends shows that US-based searches for “Bitcoin” have consistently peaked around 1 AM Eastern time for the past week. This hourly data is only available seven days into the past, so we don’t know if this is an established pattern or a new development.

Out of 50 states, California is the most search-happy at this hour, possibly because 1 AM Eastern represents just 10 PM local time on the west coast. Plenty of reasonable browsing time left in the evening.
