Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPPI) is scheduled to report third-quarter 2017 results on Nov. 2 after the market closes.
The company’s track record has been impressive. Spectrum beat estimates in all the trailing four quarters, delivering an average positive surprise of 20.08%. In the last reported quarter, Spectrum delivered a beat of 3.7%.

Spectrum's product portfolio comprises six marketed products – Fusilev, Folotyn, Zevalin, Marqibo, Beleodaq and Evomela.
However, Folotyn and Evomela have shown impressive growth and generated nearly 70% of the total sales in the second quarter. The company expects Evomela to continue its strong performance in the to-be-reported quarter. Also, the approval of Folotyn in Japan in July will further boost the top line. Moreover, the company has three advanced candidates in its pipeline – Rolontis, Qapzola and Poziotinib. Spectrum Pharma is also developing Folotyn in combination with Romidepsin as a treatment for relapsed or refractory peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma. During the quarter, the company enrolled the first patient in a phase III study evaluating Qapzola for the treatment of low and intermediate risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.
Moreover, it completed enrolling patients in the phase III study, ADVANCE, evaluating Rolontis in patients with breast cancer with chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. Top-line data from the study is expected in the first quarter of 2018. The company expects to file a biologics license application (BLA) next year.
In October, the company initiated a multicenter phase II study evaluating Poziotinib for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer patients with a genetic mutation involving exon 20.
