SAP Introduces SAP Hybris Solution For Government Sector

Enterprise application provider, SAP SE (DE:SAPG) (NYSE:SAP) recently introduced a new citizen engagement offering that will empower government organizations to deliver omnichannel citizen services. This offering will improve delivery and agility of services within the public sector by boosting citizen self-service.
Citizen Engagement for Public Sector
SAP, in collaboration with UXC Oxygen – provider of consulting and services for SAP in Australia and New Zealand – has developed this solution which works with SAP Hybris. The citizen engagement accelerator for SAP Hybris solutions will enable end users to navigate across contents seamlessly, by creating a unified user interface.
The citizen engagement offering will simplify document handling, requests, payments, permits, and registrations in domains like civic services, social services, tax and revenue management and grantor requests. According to SAP, this product introduction comes at an opportune moment as public services organizations are grappling with a host of complexities, including outdated legacy systems in back-end processes. This delays their response to policy changes and legislations.
Currently, government organizations are opting for a model, which allows citizens to access information and execute core processes via any device instead of a high-touch service delivery model. SAP’s citizen engagement offering unlocks an opportunity for these public service organizations to interact with people as per their digital preferences. It will eventually lead to the reduction of customer-service costs.
SAP Hybris Expansion Continues
Launched earlier this year, SAP Hybris is a brand that encompasses the company’s customer engagement and commerce solutions. SAP has been expanding its SAP Hybris Commerce solution by rolling out services for multiple industries, such as telecommunications, financial services and media. The latest SAP Hybris solution for the public sector highlights the company’s strategy to aim for industry-specific accelerators in order to fortify the customer base.
