Nickel: Best-Performing Base Metal Y-t-D

Below is a chart comparing various base metals and Gold over the past two weeks. I thought the past two weeks would be an interesting point of comparison, since in that time we've seen the Japanese yen decline strongly on increased stimulus from the Bank of Japan as well as the first bank in Germany to introduce negative interest rates to consumers with higher balances. In this time period, we've seen gold and nickel rally.
Year to date, we've seen nickel outperform all other base metals -- though there was a big decline in the summer.
Will the trend continue? Is there an opportunity now in buying nickel?
