March NFP Faces Deceleration

Private nonfarm payrolls in the U.S. are projected to increase by 256,000 (seasonally adjusted) in Friday’s March update from the Labor Department, based on The Capital Spectator’s median point forecast for several econometric estimates. The monthly prediction reflects a substantial deceleration in growth vs. the 288,000 gain in February.

Two estimates based on recent surveys of economists also point to a substantial deceleration in growth for private payrolls in March.
