Macro Strategy Views Podcast - How To Trade The Riksbank's Challenges

 | Aug 13, 2018 08:31AM ET

Today, we are launching our new weekly podcast 1Macro Strategy Views which is scheduled to run every Monday. The podcast focuses on topical macro and market themes and trade ideas. Thomas Harr, Global Head of FI&C Research , chairs todays podcast and our Senior Swedish Rates Strategist, Marcus Söderberg , joins him from Stockholm.

July's core inflation is too low for the dovish camp on the Riksbank board. We discuss the details in Friday's data, which were not comforting, as some components suggest that service price inflation could continue to disappoint. We expect the Riksbank to play down the likelihood of rate hikes this year at its upcoming meeting on 6 September. We like curve flatteners such as 3s7s, which can be financed by steep roll down positions in the front end. We see risks for EUR/SEK as skewed to the upside on a dovish Riksbank and downside growth risks.
