Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ:ITRI) announced that the City of Lancaster Public Works Department has signed a contract with the company to improve the city’s water efficiency, operational analysis and customer service.
These days, the City of Lancaster’s primary focus is to replace the olden infrastructure which will avoid wastage of water and costly repairs. So, the city will modernize its distribution system with Itron’s smart water solution.
The solution will enable the city to better understand consumer demands by turning detailed meter data into applicable intelligence, using analytics. The city will use a hybrid deployment of mobile and network communications to gather meter data, which will help improve the efficiency and accuracy of meter reading.
