 | Oct 04, 2016 10:09PM ET

Market watchers like us had already anticipated a probable lineup of products that Alphabet Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google was expected to unveil at its largely talked about Oct 4 event.

The company’s invite to the event hinted at a smartphone and voice assistant. The YouTube clip showed a task bar transforming to a smartphone outline and accompanied by the hashtag #madebygoogle.

With Google taking the wraps off several products yesterday at the said event, the speculations turned out to be true.

Let’s have a look at the lineup:

Pixel Phones

Google unveiled two smartphones, a 5.0 inch Pixel and a 5.5 inch Pixel XL. Powered by Snapdragon 821 processors and 4GB of RAM, the phones come with an in-built Google Assistant, DxOMark's highest-ever rated (score of 89) 12-megapixel rear camera, Android Nougat operating system, free unlimited cloud storage for full-resolution videos and images and Daydream compatibility.

The phones starting at $649 are available in black, blue and silver and with at least 7 hours of battery life upon 15 minutes of charging.

Their software enables the support operator to look into the screen and offer users better customer service.

The phones are expected to give tough competition to Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 7 and Samsung (KS:005930) Galaxy S7. Preorders started Tuesday in the U.S., U.K, Canada and Australia.

The devices have been manufactured by HTC and designed by Google. The company has decided to work with a single carrier Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) in the U.S.

Daydream View

Google launched Daydream, an Android virtual reality headset that is cheaper and simpler to use than its counterparts from Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) and Sony (NYSE:SNE) . Google has differentiated this product by putting a companion motion controller and making it compatible with other phones including Pixel. It will be available for $79 in November.

Google Wifi

Aimed at providing stronger and faster communications across multiple devices, Google Wifi is available with single and three-pack options for $129 and $299, respectively. It is available for pre-order in November.

Google Home

Google Home is a personal digital assistance device that will connect to other devices and customize or control them according to user preferences. The device is integrated with Google Assistant. The company pitches it against Amazon’s (AMZN) Echo and Apple’s Siri. It will be available for $129 in November. Preorders started on Tuesday.

Chromecast Ultra

This new HDR and Dolby Vision capable video-stream device will also support 4K videos. It will be available for $69 in November.
