Gold's Sleep Becomes Deeper

As goes gold's woes, again Bill Shakespeare (significantly paraphrased) comes to mind, circa 1600:

Whether 'tis nobler that Gold suffer the slings and arrows by outrageously revisiting 1678, or to take arms against the sea of Shorts and -- by opposing -- end them? ...
