Drought Conditions In U.S. Corn Belt

 | Jun 15, 2012 10:31AM ET

The U.S. Drought Monitor was released yesterday displaying evidence of increased dry and hot weather across the U.S. Corn Belt.

Eastern Corn Belt
States most affected by the drought conditions are along the eastern Corn Belt including Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Iowa. States along the Red River Valley have also felt the lack of rain including North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.

Yields Threatened
Crops are starting to emerge and need moisture; the lack of precipitation and increased temperatures, if continued, will have an adverse effect on yields. We will continue to closely monitor weather in the Corn Belt.
