Market Problems Flaring Up Around The World

Published 06/06/2013, 02:16 AM
This morning, the S&P 500 Index e-mini futures (ES-M3) are trading lower by 6.75 points to 1624.50 per contract. There are problems flaring up all around the world. Last night, the Nikkei 225 Index (Japan) plunged by another 3.26 percent. This leading Asian stock index has fallen lower by nearly 20.0 percent in just ten trading sessions. This is not the activity of a healthy stock market.

European stocks indexes are also trading lower today. Earlier today, Euro-zone GDP and retail sales declined. This morning, the German DAX, and the French CAC 40 are both trading lower. Traders should watch for early weakness many of the leading European equities. Equities such as the iShares MSCI Germany Index (EWG), iShares MSCI France Index (EWQ), iShares MSCI Spain Capped Index (EWP), and the iShares MSCI Italy Capped Index (EWI) should all be weak at the start of the day.
