The Trade Balance measures the difference in value between imported and exported goods and services over the reported period. A positive number indicates that more goods and services were exported than imported.

A higher than expected reading should be taken as positive/bullish for the CNY, while a lower than expected reading should be taken as negative/bearish for the CNY.

Sorry I don't believe any of this . This is so baked that I would put more trust in the postman getting married this year. We are in the worst global downturn since the second world war and the numbers are better than at any time before. I am glad I lived in China and saw the actual economy. Every smart investor  should  travel to china and look closely. Its not all it seems from an economic stand point.

Heres the pattern with chinese figure release: When its good its on time, when its neutral they release before or during lunch, when it's bad they release after the cash markets close, when its very bad they postpone a few days,when its very very bad they wait for weekend release, when its very very very bad they doctor the figure.
